What is HypoKlor® Electrochlorination System?
HypoKlor® is an advanced electrochlorination technology designed to produce sodium hypochlorite directly on site. This highly effective biocide offers extremely low toxicity and safe handling compared to traditional hazardous chemicals.

The Electro-Chemical Process & Engineering
The HypoKlor® process is engineered for maximum conversion efficiency and field safety. The system first filters incoming seawater to remove suspended solids larger than 0.5 mm. The water then passes through a dedicated flow control loop—equipped with a flow transmitter and low-flow shut-down protection—before entering the electrolyzer cells.
Crucially, our electrolyzers operate without a partition between the electrodes. This design allows hydroxide (OH-) ions produced at the cathode to move freely toward the anode, creating a basic electrolyte environment. This basic state forces the chlorine gas to react immediately with the hydroxide ions to produce active hypochlorite at the anode, rather than escaping the solution.
The Fundamental Chemical Reaction
Anode Reaction: 2Cl- → Cl2 + 2e-
Cathode Reaction: 2H2O + 2e- → H2 + 2OH-
Hydroxide Formation: 2Na+ + 2OH- → 2NaOH
Overall System Reaction: NaCl + H2O → NaOCl + H2
The active hypochlorite is then injected into your water network in continuous or shock-dosing modes, while the hydrogen gas byproduct is safely diluted and released into the atmosphere by dedicated air blowers.
