CP EYE™ Remote Monitoring & Control System
Digitize asset integrity management with BSS Technologies’ advanced CP EYE™ RMCS. Real-time structural potential tracking, automated synchronized interruption, and secure remote rectifier control across onshore and offshore asset networks.
What is CP EYE™ Remote Monitoring and Control System (RMCS)?
Cathodic Protection (CP) networks deployed across long-distance pipelines, tank farms, offshore jacket platforms, and plant facilities require continuous, error-free operational monitoring to guarantee long-term asset integrity. Traditional manual data collection requires frequent field visits, increases operational expenditure, and leaves critical gaps between survey intervals.
The CP EYE™ Remote Monitoring and Control System (RMCS) provides a complete, connected ecosystem that bridges power supplies with centralized asset management software. By pairing CP EYE™ field hardware with centralized RMCS software, operators gain real-time visibility and bidirectional control over their entire Cathodic Protection system, whether assets are located in urban corridors, remote desert terrains, or offshore marine environments.

Key System Architecture
The CP EYE™ RMCS functions as a complete two-tier monitoring and automation solution:
CP EYE™ FIELD HARDWARE LAYER
Transformer Rectifier Units (TRUs)
Solar MPPT CP DC-DC Controllers
Test Stations & Bond Locations
Legacy TR Retrofit Enclosures
Communication Interfaces: Modbus RTU | GSM | Ethernet TCP/IP | Optical | 2.4 GHz RF
CP EYE™ RMCS CENTRALIZED SOFTWARE LAYER
Centralized Workstation / Web Portal
Live Parameter Dashboard
GIS Map & Geoposition View
Automated Trend Analysis & Alarms
CP EYE™ Field Hardware Capabilities
The CP EYE™ field unit integrates directly into Transformer Rectifiers, solar power units, or standalone CP monitoring enclosures. It serves as an intelligent local Remote Monitoring Unit (RMU) and can also act as a complete replacement for standard test stations.

Multi-Parameter Measurement: Continuously measures DC output voltage, DC output current, and multiple reference electrode potentials.
Coupon & Structure Monitoring: Includes dedicated inputs and measurement channels for CP coupon potentials and coupon current density.
Control Modes: Supports Constant Voltage (CV), Constant Current (CC), and Automatic Potential Control modes for dynamic output regulation.
GPS-Synchronized Interruption: Features built-in GPS timing modules to perform synchronized current interruption across multiple field units for accurate CIPS (Close Interval Potential Survey) and DCVG testing.
Retrofit Solution for Legacy TRUs: Engineered to retrofit existing or aging third-party Transformer Rectifier Units (TRUs), immediately upgrading non-communicating rectifiers into smart, connected assets.
Local Data Logging & Storage: Onboard memory stores time-stamped operational logs locally, protecting historical data during temporary communication outages.
Flexible Digital & Analog I/O: Configurable input/output channels acquire local equipment status, door intrusion alerts, thermal limits, and AC line power availability.
CP EYE™ RMCS Software Capabilities
The centralized CP EYE™ software suite provides corrosion engineers and SCADA operators with an intuitive, graphics-rich dashboard to monitor, analyze, and optimize system health across all field locations.

Real-Time Visualization: Live graphical displays of operating voltages, loop currents, reference potentials, and equipment health status across all active CP stations.
Remote Power Output Adjustment: Secure bidirectional communication allows authorized technicians to adjust DC voltage and current setpoints remotely without physical site visits.
GIS Mapping & Geoposition View: Overlays CP asset status, rail crossings, and pipeline routes directly onto interactive geographical maps for rapid spatial diagnosis of field issues.
Automated Test Routines: Program and execute automated Depolarization Cycles, Instant-Off Interruption Cycles, and specialized survey sequences directly from the workstation.
Historical Trending & Analytical Reports: Generates automated graphical reports, historical potential trends, and regulatory compliance documentation aligned with international standards.
Instant Alarm & Event Management: Automated alarm triggers for out-of-spec potentials, AC power loss, fuse trips, or thermal limits via on-screen alerts and SMS messaging.
